Une semaine en Alberta : Le genre de road trip qui reste gravé pour de bon 🎥🤠⛰️


Honnêtement, je ne savais même pas par où commencer pour écrire cet article-là.


Quand tu reviens d'un voyage de même, t'as juste le goût de domper tes cartes mémoires, de checker tes rushes et de laisser les images parler. Parce que ce voyage, c’était tellement plus qu’un simple « content trip » ou une liste de livrables à cocher pour des clients.


Pendant 7 jours, on a traversé des paysages qui semblaient sortis d’un film. Des ranchs perdus au milieu de nulle part, des routes infinies qui coupent les Rocheuses en deux, de la poussière de rodéo plein les yeux, des nuits beaucoup trop courtes, des shootings improvisés dans le chaos le plus total… pis des souvenirs qui vont rester là pour de bon.

Du vibe western pur aux sommets des Rocheuses


On a commencé ça dret dans le vibe western pur et dur de l’Alberta. On avait un itinéraire ultra-chargé, mais chaque spot avait son ambiance complètement différente, sa propre lumière, ses propres défis :


Rowley & Drumheller : L'ambiance ville fantôme et les Badlands. Un décor presque lunaire, parfait pour donner un ton brut et texturé à nos premières images.


Anchor D Ranch & High River Rodeo : La vraie vie de cowboy. La poussière qui vole dans l'action, l’adrénaline des bêtes, les chapeaux Lonesome Cowboys et l’authenticité brute.


Cowley’s Rafter Six Ranch : Une belle expérience avec les Chavaux (voir l'extrait vidéo au début de cet article)


Banff, Canmore & Lake Louise : Le choc visuel des montagnes massives qui entrent dans le cadre, contrasté par l'eau turquoise iconique.


Chaque journée demandait de s'adapter, mais la constante à travers tout le voyage, c'était la même énergie : pas le temps de niaiser, on vit le moment à fond et on capte tout ce qu'on peut.

La réalité du terrain : Quand le Airbnb devient une "production house"


Sur le terrain, on a enchaîné les journées de gros shootings non-stop pour des marques de feu : Bullet Boots, Harley-Davidson Prémont, Wrangler via O Mini Prix (OMP) et évidemment Lonesome Cowboys.


Le genre de trip où tu vis des golden hours irréelles au milieu des montagnes avec des troupeaux de chevaux. Pour un vidéaste, c'est le paradis. Mais la réalité derrière la caméra, c'est aussi un rythme de fou :


Des soirées à finir ça tard au Dusty Boot ou au Whiskey Rose avec la gang pour profiter encore! Pour ma part continuer à édit les rush même tard le soir, voir une partie de la nuit.


Des salons de Airbnb transformés en studios de postproduction improvisés pour ma part à 1h du matin; le tout au travers de belles conversations et éclats de rires.


De l'équipement partout, des caméras/appareils qui chargent sur toutes les prises disponibles, et des backups qui roulent pendant que tu essaies de fermer les yeux deux petites heures avant le sunrise.


Des milliers de photos et de clips accumulés, avec le bon stress et l'excitation de savoir que t'as de la magie pure dans tes cartes.

Au-delà des pixels, les humains


Mais avec un peu de recul, quand je regarde mes disques durs, ce que je retiens le plus, ce n’est même pas la qualité technique des plans ou la beauté des paysages.


C’est les humains.


C’est les discussions profondes qui finissent plus à 2h du matin en attendant qu'une barre de transfert se termine. Les inside jokes de fatigue extrême qui n’ont plus aucun sens aujourd’hui, mais qui nous faisaient pleurer de rire dans le ford transit. Le silence complet qui s'installait dans la gang devant l'immensité de certains spots. Ce feeling précis d’être exactement à la bonne place, au bon moment, avec le bon monde.


Créer du contenu dans des spots de même avec du monde trippant et passionné, ça te donne une maudite bonne claque. Ça te rappelle dret en pleine face pourquoi t'as choisi ce métier-là et pourquoi t'as ramassé une caméra pour la première fois.

Les timelines sont ouvertes, le montage est à venir et les premiers extraits officiels viennent tout juste d’être remis à Lonesome Cowboy.
